TAD EL34B matched pair
The EL34 developed in the Physics Laboratory of Philips in Eindhoven (NatLab) and introduced in 1949 by Mullard manufactures with the aforementioned patented surpressor grid making it together with the other four electrodes namely the Cathode, the Anode, the Steering Grid, the Screen Grid. so-called pentode tube arose, pentode derived from Ancient Greek Penta which means five.

The Tube Amp Doctor, or TAD for short, in Germany, selects and tests vacuum tubes since 1993.
Founded by Andreas Hecke, TAD offers individually tested and, if desired, matched and/or balanced tubes at an attractive price.

In addition to the TAD EL34B, we also sell a EL34 from Mullard and Electro Harmonix.

Matched tubes
This set of tubes is matched. This means that the measured values of the tubes fall within the same range and thus perform equally.
This is important for two reasons:
1. To obtain the same gain factor per tube.
2. For the same amount of quiescent current per tube.
The first requirement speaks for itself and the second requirement prevents the one tube where a higher quiescent current or bias is needed to make it work in the linear region will also be worn out earlier. Both new tubes and our NOS tubes can be ordered separately.
