Raimond Mundorf established in the eigties his company Mundorf Ltd. During a three months practical metal work course at his study electrical engineering, he developed his first coilwindingmachine with the use of a windshield wipermotor he scored at a car demolition yard.
The word got out that Mundorf could deliver every coilspecification that manufacturers of loudspeakers demanded and his activities at his brother’s audio retailbusiness did some good also for profiling his products. Extending his brand awarness in this way, he was noticed by ScanSpeak a manufacturer of DIY high-end speakerkits that allowed him to market his so-called ‘Zero-Ohm’ coil, a low-impedance bass coil low losses and very thick wire.

Around the year 1990 the German distributor of Nakamichi Cassettedecks, asks Mundorf to develop a 12 Volts powersupply for the automotive industry. Through a competitor of Nakamichi Alpine the ‘Mundorf PSU’ becomes a real success until the widespread implementation of Class D powersupplies in cars.

During the Nineties Mundorf develops his first filmcapacitor the ‘Mcap’ with the aid of a manufacturer of caps. After that a complete portfolio of film- and later also electrolytic caps are made with the latest pinnacle design introduced in 2015, the Mcap Supreme Evo series which comes in four varieties from the standard Evo type to the SilverGold version.
